2021 REALTORS® Conference & Expo
Owned and produced by the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR), REALTORS® Conference & Expo sets the stage for the real estate industry as it is the largest annual event for the most successful real estate professionals. Education and networking sessions cover every aspect of the real estate industry with prime speakers from around the globe.
At the start of 2021, the Creative Team of NAR began developing concepts for the potential themes of the annual conference. My teammates and I met for several weeks in working sessions and presentations to collaborate in making multiple aesthetics for each theme. The concept chosen to be used for the event in the autumn was my aesthetic for 'Rise & Shine.'

Set in sunny San Diego, CA, I made a conscious effort to make all design choices to further evoke the warm, optimistic vibe of the area and the Rise & Shine theme. I also paid attention to the rising trend in interior decorating of adding retro line murals to walls. Knowing that was my intent, a peer suggested that my design needed texture. Immediately, I knew to add in brick walls. Not only did I feel that this would add the necessary depth to my design, but I pitched with the anticipated opportunity for photo-ops at the convention — a la the infamous influencer Instagram Walls. Can't you hear the social media captions already?! "Rise and shine. It’s a new day, it’s a bright day, and here comes the sun… literally!"
The shape and rising motion of the pillars and sun-rays is a nod to high-rise buildings and our commercial members, while the pitched roof shape atop the pillars connects with our residential members. Meanwhile, the brick walls signify brick and mortar, homes and buildings, and the concrete, solid, essential role members play in cultivating communities.
